JetWell Waypoints – What's new on JetWell this cycle

    Waypoints, a publication by JetWell

If you're still weighing whether care abroad is even worth exploring, here are the three questions that come up most, no matter which procedure you're considering: is the clinic real, is the price honest, and what happens if something goes wrong. Straight answers below, plus a couple of specific options if you're still browsing.

    Chiang Mai for medical tourism

Traditional temple surrounded by lush green trees in Chiang Mai, Thailand

What two JCI-accredited hospitals, 50 to 85 percent savings, and a mountain-and-temple recovery environment actually look like in Chiang Mai.

Why it matters: Chiang Mai runs quieter and cheaper than Bangkok without giving up accreditation, worth a look if a slower recovery pace appeals to you.

What happens if something goes wrong after surgery abroad?

Doctor writing on a patient's chart

What your options actually look like if a complication comes up after you're already home, and how complication coverage protects you.

Why it matters: complications happen everywhere, at home or abroad, the real question is whether you have a plan for it before you need one.

See your all-in savings, even after fees

Once your trip is booked, My Journey on your dashboard shows a savings line: how far below typical US pricing your total cost still lands, after JetCover, trip protection, and fees are added in.

Why it matters: it's easy to assume fees quietly erase the discount of going abroad. This shows the real number instead of the marketing one.

    The hat guy

Joe, who got a hair transplant in Istanbul and later founded JetWell

For most of his 30s, Joe had a hat for every occasion, and a receding hairline hiding under each one. US clinics quoted him $15,000 to $20,000, plus a flight to New York on top of that just to work with someone he trusted.

In Istanbul, the procedure, hotel, and transport came to $3,050, with an $800 flight. He calls the week of recovery, wandering the Grand Bazaar with a freshly bandaged head, one of the best weeks he's had.
