JetWell Medical Tourism Pricing Index (2026)
The JetWell Pricing Index compares typical procedure costs at international clinics, country by country, with what a package usually includes. The ranges are a guide, not a quote: what you pay depends on your case and the clinic you choose.
Hair Transplant Pricing by Country (2026)
Turkey offers some of the lowest pricing for FUE hair transplants among major medical tourism destinations, with 3,000-graft procedures ranging from $2,500 to $4,000. India offers comparable pricing for the procedure itself but typically includes fewer bundled services. US pricing remains 3–5× higher than leading international destinations. For a country-by-country breakdown, see our hair transplant cost guide.

What's Typically Included in the Price
The "headline price" of a medical tourism procedure varies significantly in what it includes. Turkish and Thai clinics tend to offer the most comprehensive all-inclusive packages, while US clinics typically bill each service separately. Understanding bundled vs. à la carte pricing is essential for accurate cost comparison.

Price Trends
Medical tourism pricing is shaped by three primary market forces: currency exchange rates, competitive density, and technological advancement. Turkey's dominance in hair transplant pricing, for example, is driven by intense competition among 500+ clinics in Istanbul alone, combined with a favorable Turkish lira exchange rate that has declined approximately 40% against the USD over the past five years.
Technological improvements have reduced per-procedure costs in some categories. The adoption of micro-motor FUE and sapphire-blade techniques has shortened procedure times by 20–30%, allowing clinics to serve more patients per day without increasing staff. This efficiency gain has kept pricing stable even as demand has increased.
In the US, hair transplant costs have increased 15–25% over the past five years, driven by rising labor costs, facility fees, and growing demand. The widening gap between US and international pricing continues to fuel growth in medical tourism, with the global market projected to reach $207 billion by 2027 (Grand View Research).
Understanding Total Cost of Ownership
The procedure price is only one component of total cost. A complete cost comparison must account for travel, accommodation beyond package inclusions, lost work time, and potential follow-up expenses. Even with these additional costs, medical tourism patients typically save 50–70% compared to the equivalent US-only cost.
| Cost Component | Typical Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Procedure package | $2,500–$4,000 | One fixed price on your quote for the procedure, hotel, transfers, and aftercare, with JetWell's service fee and, where your package includes it, your JetCover by GPS℠ premium already inside it |
| Round-trip flights | $700–$1,400 | US to Istanbul economy class; varies by season, departure city and advance booking |
| Extra hotel nights | $0–$300 | Most packages include 3–5 nights; additional nights typically $50–$100/night |
| Meals & incidentals | $100–$300 | Meals not covered by hotel package; daily budget of $20–$50 |
| Travel insurance (optional) | $50–$150 | Recommended supplement to JetCover by GPS℠ for non-medical travel risks |
| Time off work (opportunity cost) | Varies | Typically 7–10 days; desk workers can often resume remotely on Day 5 |
| Follow-up visits at home (if needed) | $0–$500 | Rare; most follow-up is remote via telemedicine and photo review |
| Estimated all-in total (3,000 grafts, Turkey) | $3,350–$6,650 | Compared to $12,000–$20,000 for the procedure alone in the US |
How JetWell Pricing Works
Your quote is one fixed price for your package, shown before you book. It is priced from the rates the clinic publishes for the procedure and the travel items your package includes, and JetWell’s service fee is already inside that price, so nothing is added on top. JetCover by GPS℠ (cover for complications from your procedure, insured by Optimum Global Insurance Company Limited, with 24/7 emergency medical assistance) is available for eligible procedures, with its premium separate from JetWell’s fee; your quote shows whether your package includes it.
You pay a deposit at checkout, and it is credited in full against your package price. You pay the balance to your clinic when you arrive, unless your checkout says otherwise. It is exactly the balance shown, and the clinic cannot add a card fee or any other charge to it. There are no additional platform fees, booking fees, or hidden charges. Clinics are paid their published rates minus their JetWell commission, so the commission never adds to your price.
